H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Oil received the Organising Committee of the 6th Middle East Maintenance and Reliability Conference (MAINTCON 2020). The delegation was headed by Eng. Abdul Hakeem Al Gouhi, VP Industrial Services, Saudi Aramco & Chairman of the Advisory Board, who was accompanied by Eng. Nezar Al Shammasi, Chairman of Gulf Society for Maintenance & Reliability (GSMR), Dr. Dhia Tawfiqi, Chairman of Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE), as well as the Steering Committee and Other Committee Chairs of MAINTCON 2020.
Welcoming Eng. Abdul Hakeem Al Gouhi and his delegation, H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa commended the Gulf Society for Maintenance and Reliability and Bahrain Society of Engineers for their initiative in organising many successful events including the biennial conference, MAINTCON 2020, which will be hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
H.E. was also briefed on the ongoing preparations for the Conference, and other highlights including the Conference’s objectives and line up of events. As this year marks the 10th anniversary of MAINTCON 2020, which will be hosted from 22 – 25 November, 2020 at the Gulf Hotel Bahrain. The exhibition space will be spread across 3,000 sqm, a 40 per cent increase from previous editions of the mega Conference. Over 1500 delegates from the Middle East and around the world are expected to attend.
Like in the past, this year too an exciting line up of activities including technical exchange, GSMR Excellence Award Ceremony, Women in Industry and Asset Management (WiAM) Awards and Innovation Corner is in store. The semi-annual meeting of the Global Forum on Maintenance and Asset Management will also be hosted during MAINTCON 2020. A unique networking platform, the Conference will offer regional and
international maintenance, reliability and asset management professionals, endless opportunities to interact with the best and brightest in the sector.
The meeting ended on a good note with H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa expressing his full support and encouragement for MAINTCON 2020. As the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) will always aim in achieving the positive results of global events that strengthen the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position as an important regional center for holding international events.
For his part, Eng. Abdul Hakeem Al Gouhi, thanked H.E. the Minister of Oil, for the good reception and topics discussed in the conference, praising the support of MAINTCON series over the years by the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain, as this event has earned an international reputation.
